Israel's Peres Says Iran Leader Will Meet Saddam's Fate

Former Israeli Prime Minister Shimon Peres (file photo) (CTK) April 15, 2006 -- Former Israeli premier Shimon Peres says the president of Iran is destined to meet the same fate as Saddam Hussein, the former Iraqi leader deposed in a U.S.-led invasion in 2003.

Speaking on April 15 in Jerusalem, Peres also urged the United Nations to take Mahmud Ahmadinejad to task over his latest threats against the Jewish state.

On April 14, the Iranian president again voiced "serious doubts" about the Holocaust and predicted the "elimination" of Israel.
