Kostunica Allowed To Attend Ceremony In Kosovo

Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica (file photo) (CTK) June 26, 2006 -- Serbian Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica has received permission from the UN Mission in Kosovo to attend a ceremony in the UN-administered province on June 28.

Kostunica is scheduled to participate in a ceremony marking the anniversary of the Battle of Kosovo Polje, fought by Serbian and Ottoman forces more than 600 years ago.

A spokesman for the UN mission urged Kostunica to ensure that the visit is not political in nature.
