Bush Says No Meeting With Iranian Leader At UN


President Bush answering questions outside the White House today (epa) September 15, 2006 (RFE/RL) -- U.S. President George W. Bush says he will not meet with Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad in New York next week.


The two leaders are scheduled to attend the annual gathering of the UN General Assembly.


Bush told reporters at a White House news conference that he will not meet the Iranian leader on the sidelines of the gathering.


Bush said representatives of the United States will sit down with the Iranians once they suspend their uranium-enrichment program.
