The U.S. military says 14 weapons caches were also uncovered during the week of February 3-9.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki said Iraqi security forces would deploy in force as part of the U.S.-backed security sweep aimed at stopping the violence in Baghdad.
"The [Baghdad security] plan will not start in a single district," he said. "It will proceed in all areas at the same time so that no one will say it has targeted one area to the exclusion of another. Those who will take part in implementing the plan come from the spectrum of recruits making up the police and army."
Meanwhile attacks against Iraqi security forces continued.
A suicide bomber slammed his vehicle packed with explosives into a police station in the northern town of Al-Dawr, near Tikrit, killing at least 15 people and wounding 25.
Further north near the Syrian border, gunmen shot dead eight recruits for Iraq's border security force.
