Police say at least 55 people were killed in the capital when two car bombs exploded in quick succession in the eastern New Baghdad area.
Another car bomb blew up in the Shi'ite district of Al-Sadr City, killing at least one person.
About 140 people were injured in the attacks.
U.S. Troops Killed
Meanwhile, the U.S. military said two of its soldiers were killed in Iraq on February 17.
And Iraqi police said British troops clashed with gunmen in the southern city of Basra, killing at least three insurgents.
Iraqi officials said about 10 bodies were found across the country in the previous 24 hours.
