Iran Says Seeking News On Missing U.S. National

April 8, 2007 -- The Iranian Foreign Ministry says authorities are trying to find out what has happened to a U.S. citizen who went missing several weeks ago while on private business in Iran.

Spokesman Mohammad Ali Hosseini said Iran wants "clear news" of the fate of Robert Levinson.

A former FBI agent, Levinson is thought to have been visiting the resort island of Kish when he disappeared.

Reports have suggested he was working on a film project.
