Iranian Industry Minister Resigns

Tahmasebi (file photo) (Fars) August 12, 2007 - Iran's industry and mines minster, Ali-Reza Tahmasebi, has resigned from the cabinet of Iranian President Mahmud Ahmadinejad.

Tahmasebi offered his resignation last week and it has been accepted by Ahmadinejad, ISNA news agency reported today.

Tahmasebi is the third official to resign from Ahmadinejad's cabinet since he came to power in 2005.

Observers say the ministers' resignations were related to continuing economic problems, as well as popular criticism of Ahmadinejad.
