The agency was closed down in connection with an arrest warrant issued for its former owner, Rakhat Aliev.
Kazakhstan Today and other media outlets that once belonged to Aliev are reportedly under new ownership.
Aliev, the former son-in-law of Kazakh President Nursultan Nazarbaev and a former ambassador to Austria, is wanted in Kazkahstan on charges of corruption, money laundering, and kidnapping. He is currently living in Austria, which has refused to extradite him.
