U.S. Mideast Commander Foresees No War With Iran


Admiral William Fallon (file photo) (epa) September 23, 2007 -- The commander of U.S. military forces in the Middle East says he does not foresee a war with Iran.


Admiral William Fallon, the head of the U.S. Central Command, said in Qatar that "I expect that there will be no war and that is what we ought to be working for."


He made the remarks in an interview with Al-Jazeera, a partial transcript of which was issued by the station today.


International tensions are high over Iran's nuclear program.
