State-run media in Turkmenistan have declared that the Central Asian country has entered a new "era of supreme happiness of the stable state" in the wake of President Gurbanguly Berdymukhammedov's landslide reelection victory.
RFE/RL's Turkmen Service reports that the theme of "supreme happiness" over the president's second term in office was suggested during an official meeting in Ashgabat on February 25.

Berdymukhammedov's first term was called the Great Era of Rebirth.
Since his inauguration February 17 after winning 97 percent of the vote, Berdymukhammedov has so far announced 29 members of his new cabinet -- and they include 22 ministers from the president's native Akhal Province.
The selections of ministers to head the so-called power ministries -- including defense, intelligence and interior -- have not yet been announced.
