Syrian men evacuate a victim from the rubble of a building following a reported air strike on the rebel-held northwestern city of Idlib on September 10.

Around 100 civilians have been killed over the last 24 hours in air strikes in Syria, a monitoring group has reported.

The London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said on September 10 that some 58 civilians were killed in a strike targeting a market in the city of Idlib.

Thirteen of the dead were reportedly children.

The observatory also reported that about 30 civilians were killed in rebel-controlled areas around Aleppo.

The air strikes were believed to have been carried out by the Syrian government or Russia.

The casualty reports came amid news that Russia and the United States have agreed to a cease-fire agreement that is set to begin at sunset on September 12.

Based on reporting by dpa and AFP

RFE/RL has been declared an "undesirable organization" by the Russian government.
