A sixth man has been arrested in London by police over an alleged threat to Pope Benedict XVI, who is in the city on the second day of a four-day visit to Britain.
The arrest came after five men were seized in the capital after counterterrorism officers received intelligence of a potential threat. None of the initial five men, all street cleaners in Westminster, are British.
The pope met the Archbishop of Canterbury as he seeks to improve relations between the Roman Catholic Church and the Anglican Church.
The pontiff also addressed British politicians, businessmen, and cultural leaders in Westminster Hall, where he pressed the need for faith issues to help shape public policy.
On September 18, he is due to address thousands of pilgrims at an open-air service in London's Hyde Park.
The visit is the first-ever state visit by a pope to Britain.
