SARAJEVO (Reuters) -- European Union Enlargement Commissioner Olli Rehn cancelled meetings on July 24 in Sarajevo due to health problems, the European Commission mission in Bosnia said.

Rehn was due to end a three-day visit to the western Balkans in Bosnia, where he was scheduled to address parliament. Commission officials said they were informed Rehn's health problems were not serious.

Temperature in the Balkans have reached peaks in the past days, with 40 Celsius expected on July 24.

Rehn had visited Montenegro, Macedonia, and Serbia, where he talked to leaders about the remaining conditions for visa liberalization and European integration.

RFE/RL has been declared an "undesirable organization" by the Russian government.
