Police said a suicide attack has killed five people in Pakistan's Swat district.

The attack, in the district's main town of Mingora, also injured more than 45 others.

The Taliban were in control in Swat and two neighboring districts until the government launched a major offensive in April against the militants.

After heavy fighting that displaced some 2 million people, the army declared it had regained control of the area.

Many of the displaced have now returned to the area, but occasional violence continues.
