Kazakh-Korean Consortium To Develop Large Iraqi Gas Field

The Korean Gas Corporation of South Korea and Kazakhstan's state company KazMunaiGaz have won a tender to develop the Akkaz natural gas field in Iraq.

The Akkaz field is located in Iraq's western Anbar province.

Akkaz has estimated reserves of some 158 billion cubic meters of gas.

Akkaz is the largest of the three gas fields foreign companies bid for on October 20.
