U.S. Soldier Charged Over Leak Of Iraq Shootings Video

A U.S. soldier suspected of leaking video footage of an Apache helicopter strike in Baghdad that killed a dozen people in Iraq -- including two employees of the Reuters news agency -- has been charged.

The U.S. military said that Private First Class Bradley Manning, 22, held in a military jail in Kuwait since last month in connection with the July 2007 attack, faces two criminal counts.

They include allegations he disclosed classified national defense information, exceeded his authorized access to U.S. computers, and transferred classified data onto his personal computer.

WikiLeaks, a whistle-blowing website, released in April the video of the U.S Army helicopter strike three years ago.
