Afghan Roadside Bombings Kill Eight

Afghan officials say eight people were killed in two separate roadside bomb blasts in the country's eastern provinces on December 15.

The Interior Ministry said in a statement that four civilians were killed when their car drove over a bomb in the Shegal district of the Kunar Province.

Four policemen were killed and seven others wounded when their vehicle ran over another explosive device in neighboring Nangarhar province's Agam district.

Provincial government spokesman Ahmad Zia Abdulzai said the district's police chief was among the dead.

Earlier on December 15, a suicide bomber targeted an intelligence service office in Nangarhar's Torkham area, near the Afghanistan-Pakistan border.

At least two intelligence officers were wounded, and the building was damaged by the blast.
