Afghanistan Tells Pakistan To Stop Cross-Border Shelling

Afghanistan's Defense Ministry has issued a statement accusing Pakistan of firing more than 300 artillery rounds into Afghan territory since September 21.

The Afghan Ministry said on September 25 that an unknown number of Afghans have been killed by the shelling and hundreds of people have been forced to flee their homes.

Afghanistan's Defense Ministry said that if the shelling does not stop, Afghanistan is prepared to respond to the "attacks."

The governor of Afghanistan's eastern Kunar Province Fazullah Wahidi claimed some 500 rockets and shells have landed in the province's Dangam district since September 21, destroying six homes, two mosques and displacing more than 100 people.

Pakistan's military said there were clashes between Pakistani forces and Afghan militants that lasted until September 24 but denied that hundreds of rockets and artillery shells were fired.
