The Minsk City Court on August 24 sentenced Artsyom Lyabedzka, the son of self-exiled Belarusian opposition politician Anatol Lyabedzka, to 3 1/2 years in prison on a charge of financing an extremist group. Lyabedzka, 37, was arrested in March and sentenced to 15 days in jail and later remanded in custody. Lyabedzka rejects the charge.
