Court Convicts Mubarak-Era Officials Of Corruption

An Egyptian court has convicted a Mubarak-era prime minister and two cabinet ministers of corruption and sentenced them to up to 10 years in jail.

Former Prime Minister Ahmed Nazif was sentenced to a one-year suspended sentence.

Former Interior Minister Habib el-Adly was given a five-year jail term.

El-Adly is already serving a 12-year term after being convicted of corruption charges in a separate case.

Former Finance Minister Youssef Boutros-Ghali was tried in absentia and received 10 years.

The three were found guilty of "illegal profiting" in the manufacture and sale of new car license plates introduced last year.
