TBILISI -- Georgia's former President Mikheil Saakashvili may be interrogated in connection with 2006 killing of a banker.
Georgian Justice Minister Tea Tsulukiani told Maestro TV on February 19 that she couldn't rule out that Saakashvili might be questioned as part of an investigation into Sandro Girgvliani's killing.
Girgvliani, the head of the United Georgian Bank's Foreign Department, was found dead in January 2006 outside Tbilisi with multiple injuries after he had arguments with his girlfriend and a group of high-ranking Interior Ministry officials in a bar.
Girgvliani's killing and officials' unwillingness to investigate it generated heavy criticism of Saakashvili's government.
