Iran Executes Man Charged Over January Protests As Death Row Inmates Stage Hunger Strike
Iran has executed another person in connection with anti-government protests that swept across the country in January. Mehdi Khaneki was hanged at Ghezel Hesar prison in Karaj after he was accused of belonging to an armed opposition group, according to an official news outlet. The execution came as some 1,500 death row inmates at the prison continued a hunger strike demanding an end to executions.
