Iran says it will put forward new proposals during the upcoming nuclear talks with world powers in Istanbul.

Iranian media quoted Saeed Jalili, who leads the country's negotiating team, as saying the Iranian delegation "will have new initiatives" during the April 14 talks.

No further details were immediately available.

Jalili also warned Western countries taking part in the meeting not to use "the language of threat and pressure."

The talks between Iran and the six powers -- the United States , Britain, China, France, Russia, and Germany -- are aimed at resolving the standoff over Iran's disputed nuclear activities.

Tehran has denied Western allegations that it plans to build nuclear weapons, insisting its uranium-enrichment work is only for civilian purposes.
