Roadside Bomb Kills Four Iraqi Soldiers

A roadside bomb has killed four Iraqi soldiers north of Baghdad.

The bomb reportedly targeted an army patrol east of Dhuluiyah, killing four soldiers, among them a major, and wounding four others.

Suspected insurgents attacked a military base near Dhuluiyah on July 23, killing at least 15 soldiers and wounding two others.

The latest incident comes just a day after some 30 people were killed in attacks mainly aimed at Iraq's security forces.

Some 40 people have been killed so far in August, among them 30 members of the security forces.

According to estimates by Iraqi officials, 325 people died in militant attacks in July, the highest monthly death toll since August 2010.
