A spokesman for Gulnara Karimova says the eldest daughter of Uzbek President Islam Karimov is prepared to face a fair trial but won't get one in Uzbekistan.
Karimova was a globe-trotting businesswoman until a corruption scandal last year led to her confinement in a Tashkent house.
On September 8, the Uzbek Prosecutor-General's Office named Karimova as a suspect in an organized crime case.
Earlier this year, prosecutors in Sweden and Switzerland named her as a suspect in bribery and money-laundering cases.
Locksley Ryan of London-based consulting firm David Ryan Dore told RFE/RL on September 17 that the only way to resolve the allegations "is to let her go to court and a judge decide."
But he said it must be "an independent court; it's not going to work in Uzbekistan."
"If the Swiss have raised questions which she must answer, then allow her to go to Switzerland and answer [them]," he said.
