Kazakh authorities have blocked the website of the Russian TV channel Tsargrad due to extremist propaganda and "inciting discord." Materials aimed at "inciting ethnic hatred" were found on the website, the Ministry of Information and Social Development said on August 17. YouTube blocked Tsargrad TV in 2020, with Google, the video-hosting company's owner, citing violations of export laws. The Tsargrad website was founded by Konstantin Malofeev, a Russian businessman known for supporting Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Malofeev has faced U.S. and EU sanctions since 2014.
