The Kazakh parliament's lower chamber, the Mazhilis, approved in its first reading on November 15 a bill on creating a military reserve that would allow, in case of emergency, to quickly organize their mobilization. Kazakhstan's Defense Ministry announced the plans to introduce reserve service last year, less than two weeks after Russia launched its unprovoked invasion of Ukraine.
