Kazakhstan's prime minister has signed deals worth some $23.6 billion during his visit to China.
The agreements were signed on March 27 during Kazakh Prime Minister Karim Masimov's meeting with his Chinese counterpart, Li Keqiang.
The deals cover cooperation in steel, nonferrous metals, sheet glass, oil refining, hydropower, and automobile production.
Masimov also met with Chinese President Xi Jinping, who praised the increasingly strong ties between the two countries.
Masimov called the signing of the new agreements a "good start" and said his country is ready to further deepen cooperation with China.
China has supplanted Russia as the lead trading partner in most of the Central Asian countries.
Kazakhstan currently exports a great number of goods and materials to China, most notably oil, natural gas, and uranium.
