Kazakhstan's Prosecutor-General's Office says it will oversee inspections of all state medical organizations operating under the Ministry of Health after it was reported in June that three people were infected with HIV at the Almaty Central City Hospital. The office said on August 3 that it will inspect 549 state hospitals, clinics, and medical centers. The June report was not the first instance of people in Kazakhstan being infected with HIV in a hospital.
