A police officer in Kosovo shot her parents and two brothers to death and then killed herself in the southeastern city of Gjilan, officials say.
Prosecutors on February 18 identified the officer only by the initials V.B. and said she had been working at the local police station in Gjilan, about 50 kilometers southeast of the capital, Pristina.
Lieutenant Colonel Remzi Azemi and case prosecutor Arben Kadriu told RFE/RL that the officer used her official weapon in the killings.
"It is a serious and sensitive event and we cannot provide more information [at this time]," Azemi said.
Authorities said all five were discovered dead at the scene.
