No casualties were reported.

Tensions in the area have risen amid Pristina's efforts to exert control over two border crossings with Serbia.

Kosovo police and customs officials together with EU police deployed to the crossings on September 16.

A previous attempt by Kosovo authorities in July to take control of the crossings left one Kosovo policeman dead.
