Another round of Kyrgyz-Tajik talks on border demarcation have started in the Tajik capital, Dushanbe.
The Kyrgyz government’s press service says the talks on the deputy-prime-minister level on May 12 also focus on recent clashes between Kyrgyz and Tajik citizens along the border that left at least 25 people injured.
The major road connecting Tajikistan with its exclave on Kyrgyz territory was closed for three days after some 1,500 residents of the exclave and a nearby Kyrgyz village clashed on May 7.
A Kyrgyz gasoline station and at least two Kyrgyz-owned trucks were burned during the clashes.
It took border guards and police from both countries several hours to restore order in the area.
About one-third of the nearly 1,000-kilometer border between Tajikistan and Kyrgzstan remains disputed.
