Heavy rains overnight caused floods in Kyrgyzstan's capital, Bishkek, the Emergency Ministry said on March 22, adding that residences in several parts of the city were under water. Rescue and emergency teams are working in the affected areas, it said. The ministry said that heavy rains are expected to last until March 24 and may cause avalanches and landslides in the mountainous regions of Chui, Talas, Osh, Jalal-Abad, and Batken.
