Libyan Rebels: Air Strike Killed Qaddafi's Son

Libyan rebels today say a NATO air strike overnight in the town of Zliten has killed Muammar Qaddafi's son Khamis.

A rebel spokesman said the airstrike killed more than 30 people, including Khamis.

A Libyan government spokesman, Moussa Ibrahim, however, denied the report, calling it "a dirty trick."

At the headquarters of NATO's Libya operation in Naples, an alliance official said he was aware of the report but could not confirm it.

Khamis, the head of an elite military unit, was said to be commanding the fighting in Zliten, which has halted the rebel advance to Tripoli.

Zliten lies between the rebel-held town of Misrata and Benghazi.
