Pakistani Troops Clash With 'Hundreds' Of Pakistan Taliban Near Afghan Border

Pakistani troops repelled a cross-border raid from Afghanistan by Pakistani Taliban militants on September 6, a senior official said. The Pakistani military said four of its troops were killed. Twelve militants also died in the clash. Mohammad Ali, deputy commissioner of the Chitral district, told AFP that hundreds of militants stormed the border armed with light and heavy weapons. The Pakistan military said the group attacked two outposts in the area. Before the army’s announcement, the Tehrik-e Taliban claimed to have captured two villages and some army checkpoints.
