Authorities in Pakistan on June 12 began evacuating tens of thousands of people who are at “high risk” of an approaching cyclone that is expected to bring high winds along the coastline of the Arabian Sea regions of Pakistan and India. Sindh Province officials said more than 9,000 families in some coastal communities were being moved to safer areas farther inland as the cyclone -- expected to reach land later this week -- approaches.
