Pakistan Party Says To Quit Cabinet

A key party in Pakistan's ruling coalition says it is withdrawing its ministers from the federal cabinet, citing lack of progress in solving the country's problems.

The Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) said its two ministers would submit their resignations today, but cautioned that the party was not yet joining the opposition.

The announcement comes weeks after the country's most prominent religious party, Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Fazl, withdrew from the coalition government led by President Asif Ali Zardari's Pakistan People's Party.
