Here's an item from the dpa news agency on yet another far-reaching ramification of the Ukraine crisis:

A joint exhibition by Germany and Russia marking the 70th anniversary of the end of World War II has been overshadowed by tensions between the two countries over the conflict in Ukraine.

The exhibition, From Confrontation to Cooperation, opens to the public on Thursday [October 29] and tells the story of the often-complicated relations between Germany and Russia over the last seven decades.

"The whole development process was overshadowed by the current tensions," curator Julia Franke told a press conference on Wednesday [October 28], referring to the crisis in Ukraine, with German Chancellor Angela Merkel spearheading Western criticism of Russia's role.

It was a success that the project had come about, said Franke. The exhibition was pieced together by Berlin's German-Russian Museum and Russia's state archive.

The exhibition at Berlin's Martin-Gropius-Bau museum includes more than 200 exhibits such as photos and documents. A similar exhibition will be held in Moscow from November 10.
