EU reacts to Putin's opening rail bridge to Crimea:
On December 23, a spokesman for the EU's foreign-policy chief, Josep Borrell, criticized the opening of the transport link.
"This constitutes another violation of Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity by Russia," spokesman Peter Stano said, according to dpa.
"The European Union expects Russia to ensure unhindered and free passage through the Kerch strait, in accordance with international law," the statement added.
