Speaking today at roundtable talks in Kyiv, Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk said:
"Today in particular, starting this national dialogue is very important. It is very important because the responsibility for the destiny of this country of 45 million people, which lies in the heart of Europe, rests upon us."
"Our key goal now is peace and quiet in our country and this peace and quiet must be and can be achieved through political and diplomatic means and we are going to have dialogue with those who do not have weapons in their hands, don't shoot, kill, and kidnap peaceful citizens."
"We think that the confirmation and approval of any agreement at the international level must be done within the format we agreed upon in Geneva, a four-party format including Ukraine, the EU, the U.S., and Russia. This is the format that provides a solution at the international level, that includes the security of Ukraine as a united sovereign and independent country."

"It is being now said that [we] do not want to listen to the Donetsk region. We want to listen. But in order to listen to people, there is no need to shoot, there is no need to rob, there is no need to seize buildings. We are open to the dialogue. Both the parliament and the cabinet of ministers are ready for comprehensive changes."
