A Russian confectioner is courting controversy with a line of "Crimea" sweets that dare consumers to "Just Try To Take It!"
It is the subject of an article on the Sibnovosti website.
The packaging, by a company called Chocolate Tradition, shows a chiseled superhero flexing in front of a map of the Ukrainian peninsula, which was annexed by the Kremlin in mid-March in an internationally unrecognized move.
The sweets are bordered by colors similar to those of the "Ribbon of St. George" that has long been used to honor veterans and the Soviet and Russian military but sparked controversy this year in light of Russia's actions in Ukraine.
Sibnovosti says production started soon after the March 16 referendum in Crimea.
