Sixteen-year-old Vladyslav Rudenko was at home in the Kherson region when Russian soldiers forced him leave to occupied Crimea. He was one of many Ukrainian youths taken from occupied territories to what Kyiv calls pro-Russian "reeducation camps." Speaking with RFE/RL, Rudenko recalls how for months he was made to sing the Russian national anthem and could only watch Russian media. Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, Kyiv has accused Moscow of actively deporting Ukrainian children in what some officials have called a "cultural genocide" of the Ukrainian identity.
