United Nations Secretary General Ban Ki-moon is meeting Slovenian officials at the start of his tour of the former Yugoslavia.
Ban met Slovenia's Prime Minister Janez Jansa on June 20 and is expected to hold talks with President Danilo Turk and address the country's parliament.
Ban is also scheduled to visit former Yugoslav areas of Croatia, Montenegro, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia, Kosovo and Macedonia.
While in Bosnia, Ban will visit Srebrenica, the site of Europe's worst massacre since World War II, where Bosnian Serb forces killed some 8,000 Muslims in 1995.
Slovenia is the only ex-Yugoslav republic to have joined the European Union.
