Opposition candidate Alyaksandr Milinkevich today complained that one of his recent political broadcasts had been cut. He said the cut was made at a point where he was mocking President Alyaksandr Lukashenka for his alleged lack of culture.
Also today, Nina Shidlovskaya – the spokeswoman for opposition candidate Alexander Kozulin -- said that authorities cut seven minutes from a 30-minute political broadcast he had recorded.
Lukashenka is seeking a third term in the March 19 election.
Belarusian oppositionist groups, rights advocates, and the U.S. State Department say they do not believe the vote will meet democratic standards.
