Uzbek President Visits South Korea


Islam Karimov (file photo) (AFP) March 28, 2006 -- Uzbek President Islam Karimov starts a state visit to South Korea today.

During his trip, Karimov is due to hold talks with President Roh Moo-hyun and other top South Korean officials on ways of boosting Uzbek-South Korean ties, especially in the trade and economic sectors.

Several bilateral agreements are expected to be signed during Karimov's three-day visit.
