Iraqi Kurd Leader Warns PKK


A Kurdish protester holds a PKK flag at a demonstration in Istanbul in April (epa) May 5, 2006 -- A top Iraqi Kurdish official today warned rebels from the separatist Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) not to use Iraq as a base from which to wage war on Turkey or Iran.


The warning by Imad Ahmad, deputy prime minister of Al-Sulaimaniyah province, comes amid tensions between Iraqi Kurds and Iran and Turkey, which have been battling separatist Kurdish militants.
