New Serbian Coalition Seeks To Replace Nationalist Speaker

Serbian Radical Party (SRS) Tomislav Nikolic (epa) May 12, 2007 -- Serbia's parliament is scheduled to meet later today to discuss replacing ultranationalist speaker Tomislav Nikolic.

He was elected earlier this week with the help of the moderate nationalist party of acting Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica.

On May 11, Kostunica's party agreed with the pro-European party of President Boris Tadic and another smaller pro-reformist party to form a coalition government.

They also filed a motion to replace Nikolic before electing the new government.
