Feuding Iraqis Meet For Secret Peace Seminar In Finland

Muqtada al-Sadr (file photo) (AFP) September 1, 2007 -- Representatives from feuding Sunni and Shi'ite groups are continuing talks at a secret location in Finland to discuss ways of ending the bloodshed in Iraq.

A group headed up by former Finnish President Martti Ahtisaari says it is hosting a seminar to examine how lessons learned from peace processes in South Africa and Northern Ireland could be applied to Iraq.

Finnish media say representatives of the radical Shi'ite cleric Muqtada al-Sadr and the leader of the largest Sunni Arab political group, Adnan al-Dulaimi, are attending the seminar, which began Friday.
