Medvedev Urges Belarus Leader To Avoid 'Anti-Russian Rhetoric'

In a new video blog, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev criticizes the behavior of Belarusian President Alyaksandr Lukashenka.

Medvedev is expected to note that Lukashenka uses "election campaign methods based on anti-Russian rhetoric" and that "such behavior is dishonest, [and] partners don't act that way."

Medvedev also says "attempts to paint the picture of an outside enemy in the public mind have always distinguished the Belarus leadership. In the past this role was given to America, Europe, and the West in general. Now Russia has been declared one of the key enemies."

Medvedev says Lukashenka would be better to address his country's internal problems such as the "numerous cases of people who have disappeared."

Medvedev's video blog is posted on the Kremlin's official website.
