Thousands of people rallied in southern Kyrgyzstan today following ethnic disturbances there on May 19.

The interim government declared a state of emergency and blamed Bakiev's supporters for fueling interethnic tensions.
On May 19, Roza Otunbaeva, the head of the interim government, was appointed acting president until December 31, 2011, with the country's presidential election postponed until October 2011.
The interim government is expected later today to present the draft of a new Kyrgyz constitution.
